I find most AI art to be disturbing in a too smooth, uncanny valley sort of way. Maybe it’s the models feeding in on themselves but it feels like as they “improve” this feeling gets worse and worse.

I hope it’s just robots talking to robots. The slow decline of Facebook into a robo-ouroboros (roboboros?) of AI generated crap isn’t good, but it’s certainly preferable to real people falling for this stuff.

I have to wonder how many of the responding accounts are, themselves, bots...
even if they're a tech-illiterate boomer, I find it hard to believe that they can't recognize the artifice here (or that they'd reply happy birthday <cake emoji>)
